Patrick is one of the best vocal coaches in the country. I tried several other coaches in the Phoenix area before finding AZ Music Project. I can’t believe the improvement in my voice after less than a year. Patrick is an encourager, as well. When I was on the verge of quitting, Patrick brought me back to earth and somehow made me believe in myself.

Patrick was an excellent coach/trainer for our daughter. His studio and teaching standards were state of the art to say the least. He and his staff were always most professional, and so easy to work with. The experience with his facility was a pleasurable one, not to mention the outstanding results my daughter received while training with Patrick. Thank you Patrick….we will be back.

I am a singer, songwriter, and pianist, and perform frequently with my band. I decided to take lessons from Patrick when I noticed that I was losing my high range, and my voice wasn’t as strong or consistent as I wanted it to be. Patrick uses unique technology that gives you visual feedback on the quality of your voice, including elements such as pitch, volume, vibrato, and amount of voice slides between notes. He also uses exercises to help me sing in a healthy, natural voice, avoiding putting stress or strain on my vocal cords. He helped me learn to relax and “just sing,” using an open throat, and to not try so hard or push my voice in my high range. He is also helping me learn how to sing with “effortless power,” rather than “powerful effort.” The result? I am able to sing a wide range of notes without my voice cracking and I sound great! I’ve only been taking lessons from him for a short time, so I still am not at my maximum level, but Patrick’s innovative methods have improved my singing a lot.

My times with Patrick were some of the best memories I have working at the AZ Music Project. His ability to change programs for each individual amazed me because it worked every time. His love for music is what makes him such a great vocal coach. Patrick is able to get the very best out of each one of his students. Whenever I get clients looking for vocal coaches, I recommend Patrick, and I plan on having him coach my daughter, my wife, and myself in the near future.

I was in choirs and school choral groups since I was young; however, I did not begin lessons until high school. Although I progressed quite a bit, I was still lacking the ability to shine in front of an audience.
I started as a vocal student with Patrick and it was one of the BEST decisions I ever could have made!!!  I have not only strengthened my voice and expanded my range, but my confidence also developed.  Just after two “live” performances with AZMP, I am learning to LOVE the crowd, whereas before, I was a real nervous wreck!  Now each time I sing in front of people, I feel vibrant, and surer of myself.  A voice is one thing, but how you make it shine with the whole package is the key!

Before I met Patrick, I had been singing publicly for about 15 years.  I had taken vocal lessons once before from someone who was licensed to teach by (name omitted), and quite frankly, it was useless at the time for whatever reason. So it was with a degree of trepidation that I decided to give improving my voice another shot.
Patrick was the last of three people I contacted, and the first to call me back.  He was the only one who took the time to go to my web site and listen to the music I had posted to get an idea of where I stood, and what I was trying to accomplish. He gave honest, genuine feedback that I thought was also insightful, so we set up an introductory meeting that led to weekly lessons.
He has helped me improve immeasurably, and has given me confidence in an area where I thought I would never be anything more than adequate. I honestly believe I can sing well, and that with the right amount of practice, I will be damn good. That speaks volumes for him as a teacher, but not enough for him as a genuine and enthusiastic friend. There aren’t enough people like him in the world.

I am a composer, music arranger and musician. However, my singing capabilities were far from adequate when I attempted to perform my original compositions.  Within just 3 weeks of beginning lessons, Patrick’s training changed my singing style from what could only be termed as annoying and lacking in any entertainment value to a performance with style, personal expression and audience appeal. The difference in my singing ability from BP (before Patrick) to AP (after Patrick) is like night and day. I now have confidence in my singing voice and I know I can perform my music vocally as well as instrumentally, thanks to Patrick.
Before I engaged Patrick’s services, I researched a number of different singing instructors, and after telephone interviews with each of them, including Patrick, I came to the conclusion that Patrick was the most professional and dedicated instructor, primarily because he showed concern and attention to my personal needs as a student. He didn’t treat me simply as another dollar in his pocket, as did the other instructors I contacted, but was concerned with my needs and his capability to help me achieve my goals.
My singing ability improve dramatically and incredibly through his lessons, and I also came to know Patrick as a wonderful, caring human being as well as one terrific teacher who REALLY KNOWS HIS FIELD OF EXPERTISE!

Being a vocalist is a full time job! Patrick has taught me that there is more to being a vocalist than just singing.  He has shown me that taking care of my voice away from the microphone is just as important as doing daily vocal exercises.  I have come a long ways in the past few months working with Patrick – my band has even taken first place in a local competition! It’s unbelievable how far your voice can take you and Patrick is right there helping me along the way!

Within a year Patrick has brought our talented vocalist from hobbyist to the professional recording artist level. He has done this through his solid knowledge of voice development and the advanced technologies he employs. On top of all this, he is a patient, honest, nice guy. I highly recommend him.

Wow! I came to you a couple days after having thrashed my voice at a gig.  I finished my lesson with my voice feeling great!!! I sang on the way home and it was amazing how effortless it was. I never want to go back to my old way of singing. Not even the all and powerful (name omitted) could do for me what you did for me in a half an hour! Amazing!  Just thought I’d let you know…

As a working musician, I play cocktail piano at various local venues. I’ve was often asked to sing but was terrified, and didn’t really have any concept about what singing entailed. Working with Patrick, I now feel comfortable and relaxed. Patrick is very supportive and helps you build confidence in yourself. During this process (about 3 months) I gained about 4 notes on my top end and 3-4 on the bottom range of my voice. I definitely came away with more confidence and a voice that’s now wide open. I can’t begin to describe the volume and power increases with DECREASED effort. It is a strange phenomenon and something I would highly recommend. Patrick is a great teacher, mentor and friend.

Patrick came into my life when I needed new direction in my training, and didn’t know where to begin… As a vocalist, I’m so thankful I found him when I did. Patrick is my compass. I have been to many vocal coaches throughout my life,  to help expand my range and better myself as an artist. I have never excelled as much as I have with Patrick. He has helped me sing with effortless power, which has helped me keep my voice vibrant throughout an entire 12-set gig. He is a caring and definitely patient instructor. I have been working with Patrick for several years now and my voice has really improved, and continues to improve the more I work. Not only has my voice improved but I have had a lot of fun working on it. I appreciate the fact that in addition to working on the important fundamentals (breathing, tone, etc) Patrick still lets me work on songs that I am interested in. I am personally a Broadway fan, so we have a fun time working on current Broadway classics. All told I am glad that I came to Patrick as he has created an environment where I can learn to sing while having a great time.
I recently had the opportunity to take part in several recording sessions at the AZ Music Project studio. I must say that I was extremely impressed with both the incredible skill of the audio engineer as well as the quality of the equipment that the studio owns. The recordings went beyond just singing into a microphone, to the point of tweaking the final recording to sound as good as it possibly could. I am certain that I will be doing more recording sessions at the AZ Music Project in the future.

My journey with Patrick and the AZ Music Project began when I was a frustrated karaoke singer. Not only was my understanding of voice and music “muted” at best, but also I didn’t have the slightest idea of how to present myself onstage. Patrick’s coaching and supervision over the last several years helped me discover a voice I never imagined, and to truly enjoy the opportunities to sing. In addition, his encouragement to develop my musical talents, hidden or otherwise, has led me to take guitar lessons. As a result, I have high hopes of playing and singing my favorite songs at my friends’ parties or perhaps more formal venues. Patrick’s professional guidance has greatly improved my “onstage presence” even to the point where my technical presentations for my “real job” have won recognition from my colleagues.  Thank you Patrick.

Patrick is amazing. It’s hard to explain, but he can find the core within you and help you to expand, develop and pursue your musical visions and your dreams, however strong they resound within you.
I’m a bit of an uptight personality, but they – meaning both Patrick and Bonnie – put me at ease very quickly. Their program is innovative, challenging and empowering. Currently there are an amazing variety of services being offered by AMP – not only vocal lessons, but also instruction for guitar and keyboards, if they be your passion.
And as for recording, I can’t offer enough praise to Bonnie. She immediately put me at ease, and recording with her is a pleasure. Even my recording friends remark on her inherent talents.
Basically I’m a guitar player who got fed up with the band crap, meaning drugs, egos, girlfriends, wives – whatever. So I decided to embark as a solo artist and AMP has been instrumental in helping me meet my own artistic goals.

I started off knowing only that I had a gift for singing, but was a stranger to my own gift. Not sure what to do with it and not sure how to use it, I reached out to Patrick.  Beginning with the first lesson, Patrick has helped me to truly find my voice.  Patrick is very knowledgeable in what he does.  He teaches everything under the sun in the world of singing, from how to make your voice sound bigger (technique) to how to deliver a song to an audience (performance). Using all his teachings has brought me close to my voice and getting closer with every lesson. I feel like my gift is now unwrapped, and I’m more confident with what to do with it and how to use it. I have been singing all my life. I’m not a professional – I just love to sing. I started having problems sustaining notes, and noticed I had some sort of vocal fatigue. The ENT doctor diagnosed nodules on my vocal chords.  My options: surgery or play the wait-and-see game, in hopes that the nodules would be re-absorbed. After several months in therapy with a speech pathologist, I thought I was cured – but alas, the problems continued. A friend had been taking vocal lessons at AZMP for quite some time and often suggested I give it a try. I finally gave in, and it has made all the difference in the world. Let me tell you… from someone who loves to sing and would be lost without the ability to do so… music is everything to me, and singing is my soul. Without it, I don’t exist. Thank you Patrick and AZMP for giving me back my life.

I contacted AZMP in an effort to finish a project that I had been trying to get done for a couple of years. Many people said they would love to be a part of it, but when it came right down to helping get the work done, they were no where to be found, or conveniently not able or willing to help.

Patrick has been the most useful measure I could ask for in developing my voice. I’m surprised at the speed and ease in which I was able to significantly improve with Patrick’s guidance. He has a unique style of teaching that has helped me to feel confident in my abilities, and to realize what needs to be improved immediately while providing the skills and exercises necessary to do so, not a year down the line, but within a two or three lessons. People actually listen when I sing now, something that other instructors were simply unable to provide me. It’s only been a few lessons, and already I’m a hundred times more satisfied with my performance. If you are even considering lessons, you should know that this is the only instructor I’ve ever felt didn’t waste my time and money.

The AZ Music Project is the only place to go for great vocal training and an amazing atmosphere. Patrick puts you at ease the minute you step into the studio, and he has a knack for understanding how to teach and reach people.
